Three Hygiene Essentials

Three inexpensive items for maintaining health are: mouthwash, hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol. All these items are found at grocery stores and help prevent disease. Mouthwash and rubbing alcohol perform a similar task; however, a person should never drink rubbing alcohol or place it their mouth.

Dental care is important. People pay a lot for teeth whitening though there is an inexpensive method for minty fresh breath. Every three months or when experiencing a tooth ache, add this additional routine to regular maintenance.

After brushing and flossing, pour a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide into a cup. Sip the hydrogen peroxide and swish it around the mouth. Hydrogen peroxide dissolves dirt, destroys bacteria and fizzes while it works. After the bacteria has a chance to dissolve and spit it out. Make sure it has direct contact with the teeth, gums, tongue and roof of the mouth. Brush teeth and scrap off addition tartar or green stuff with a straight pin or end of tweezers. Tartar is weakened, so it is removed easily.

Now it is time to rinse with mouthwash. Mouthwash has an alcohol base. It stings because it not only disinfects, it chemically seals wounds. If suffering from a toothache leave mouthwash on the tooth longer. Pour mouthwash into a cup to avoid leaving bacteria on or in the bottle. Bacteria can build up making the mouthwash less potent. Teeth are left bright and squeaky clean. When bacteria are removed from nerves toothaches disappear while waiting for the scheduled dental appointment.

The next major threat to health is surface wounds. People underestimate a nick with a razor or small abrasion. It doesn't make sense to see a doctor every time a person skins their knee, yet small abrasions attract infection. Infection can turn into serious illness. Prevent disease by pouring hydrogen peroxide over the wound and then chemically seal abrasions from future infection by dabbing it with a cotton ball saturated in rubbing alcohol.

Drug companies want to charge exorbitant prices for special anti-bacterial ointments and colognes. Mouthwash, hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol cost less than a few dollars each. If wounds are treated quickly scaring is completely avoided. Bacterium blocks natural healing; therefore, a clean wound heals without scaring. These three items prevent disease and high medical bills, triple action preventive medicine.
